IB Profile
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (referred to as the IB DP) is a two-year program of courses taken in Grades 11 and 12. The curriculum is provided to Chesterton High School by the International Baccalaureate Organization.  
 
The mission of the International Baccalaureate Organization is to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help create a better and more peaceful world through an education that builds intercultural understanding and respect.  The programme aims to develop students who have breadth and depth of knowledge and will fourish physically, intellectually, emotionally and ethically.
 
 
The IB exams administered at Chesterton High School in May of each year are the same exams that are taken by other IB diploma students throughout the world. Today, the International Baccalaureate diploma is accepted by universities around the world, including the best universities in North America, Australia, the UK and continental Europe. The majority of Diploma Program graduates enter higher education. 

The IB World Organization currently works with over 5,500 schools in over 160 countries to offer challenging curriculum to more than 1,950,000 students around the world!

Students in Grades 11 and 12 enroll in 6 classes that utilize the IB curriculum: English, World Language, Social Studies, Science, Math, and Art. Students also complete a core curriculum that includes Theory of Knowledge, Community, Action, Service and the Extended Essay. This IB curriculum is accepted by the Indiana State Department of Education as fully meeting the requirements for high school graduation.
